Testing of automotive industry products shall be conducted in accredited testing laboratories (centres).

For the purposes of the testing object identification the applicant shall submit to the Certification body a copy of the technical specifications or technical description, the certificate, the service manual or instructions in the Russian language, the engineering documentation, data on the nature of production (serial or single-piece production), data on the production rate (if available) or batch size. If available, the following documents may be submitted: foreign certificates or reports of tests conducted in foreign laboratories, certificates of supplier quality management system or a warranty letter on availability of production facilities ensuring a stable level of the certified product indices together with substantiation of the manufacturer's readiness for manufacture of the product subject to certification, a certificate of origin, other documents confirming the compliance of the product for which certification is applied for, as well as containing all data required for completion of the compliance certificate.

Based on the analysis of the documented evidence in favour of the product compliance with the established requirements submitted together with the application the Certification body may as well make a decision "on reducing audit (test) scope or on issuing a compliance certificate without conducting tests".
