A certificate of origin provides for customs privileges when a product is exported fom Russia. A certificate of origin is issued by the Russian Chamber of Trade and Industry and is subdivided into 3 types:

• "ST-1" certificate is issued for products exported to the countries of the Free Trade Zone Agreement, namely Azerbaijan, Armenia, Byelorussia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan;
• "A" certificate is issued for products exported to the EU countries, the USA, and Canada;
• A general certificate is issued for products exported to other countries.
